  • A signed release form.
  • An accepted submission form.
  • How you found out about Spellbinder.

If you wish to be published anonymously or by a pseudonym, we can accommodate for that. If you are a competition winner but would like us to advertise your winning work by a pseudonym, or if you’d like to remain anonymous, we can also accommodate for that.

Why We Collect Your Data

We are collecting your data for several reasons:

  • To better understand your needs.
  • To improve our services and products.
  • To customize our website according to your online behavior and personal preferences.
  • To publish your work in our magazine.
  • To communicate with you about your submission / competition entry.
  • To post about your contribution / winning work (this may include: the title and category of the contribution; up to 10 lines of poetry, up to 1 paragraph of fiction/nonfiction, up to 1 mag pg of drama, or up to 1 artwork/photo; the name and social media handles of the contributor) on our social media channels.
  • Annual competitions only: to publish your winning work in full on our website.
  • To inform about the diversity and global reach of our magazine on our website.
  • To pay the £3 honorarium per acceptance after print publication.

We may use your name, social media handles, bio and headshot in our paperback and digital issue. We may use your name and title of work on the cover of the magazine. We may use your submission on the cover of the magazine if it is an artwork or photograph – we will credit you if we do. We may share your name, title of work, your website and social media handles in a social media post. We may share your national identity anonymously on our website. We may share your name, title of work and an extract of your piece or your piece in full on the Spellbinder website if we feature you in a blog post. We will not be using your information in any other way apart from the ones stated above.
