Masthead – Rosa Bucher

Rosa Bucher

Associate Fiction Editor

Winter 2026 – present

Rosa Bucher was born and raised near Florence in Tuscany. She studied Ancient Greek and the classics remain her first love while etymology continues to be a constant source of inspiration and reflection on the innate poetic imagery in languages. As part of her degree in Letters she studied history and history of art in Paris, returning to Italy to pursue Italian literature and cinema. Bologna’s bustling cinema scene inspired her to explore the power of dialogue in screenwriting. Favourite films include L’AtalanteSmiles on a Summer Night and The Odd Couple.  She is currently exploring the themes of friendship and jealousy. After discovering Anthony Powell’s novel series A Dance To The Music Of Time, her interest in the delicate art of friendship was reignited, providing fresh fuel for her own short stories. An active role in writing — rather than a purely academic one — has recently taken precedence. Rosa is currently based in London, working on a screenplay and a collection of short stories whilst pursuing an internship to complete her master’s.
