Masthead – Emmett Coleman

Emmett Coleman (He/Him)

Associate Poetry Editor, and Website Manager

Autumn 2023 – present

Emmett Coleman is a poet and recent recipient of a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews, where he wrote his undergraduate dissertation on reading Frankenstein and Poor Things with ‘Thing Theory.’ His own poetry, which has been featured in Propel Magazine and Teiresian, deals most often with being alive and being queer, considers the strangeness and beauty of the mundane, and is constantly and inevitably grappling with the insufficiency of language as a tool to communicate the human experience, but, like, in a fun way.

Aside from poetry, he is also passionate about theatre (both musical and otherwise), wants more tattoos than he currently has, and enjoys playing the guitar.
